The project is targeted at improving upon the local method of production used by women salt producers. Some communities in Ebonyi state have rich salt deposits and because of this Ebonyi state is called the salt of the Nation. UNIDO has introduced solar still for salt processing. |
| VILLAGE SOLAR LIGHTING |
This project is to provides light in the villages through solar lamps. There are energy shops in the villages which are run by entrepreneurs who are the project service providers. |
| BIOMASS GASIFIER FOR VILLAGE INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES |
The biomass gasifier is to provide energy for industrial activities in the rural areas. |
| ENERGY EFFICIENCY IMPROVEMENT IN THE ABAKALIKI RICE MILL CLUSTER |
The rice milling machines in Abakaliki are obsolete and run on diesel. The energy efficiency program aims at introducing modern efficient milling machines. |
| ABAKALIKI RICE HUSK TO ELECTRICITY POWER PLANT |
This project is a pilot for Nigeria and intends to generate 5MW of electricity using rice husk. |
| CASSAVA PROCESSING AND VALUE ADDITION |
Ebonyi state is rich in agriculture and cassava is one of the readily available and largely cultivated crops. This projects aims at processing and adding value to cassava products in Ebonyi state. |

The ICT component is targeted at ICT capacity building. The UNIDO - HP project has fully commenced with the capacity of graduates and undergraduates being built on entrepreneurship development through IT. |
